The multimedia installation touch gives the opportunity to experience a person to person connection through a digital translation. Instead of seeing, reading, or hearing the connection, the two people participating are able to feel the connection through the hand sensors. The two sensors are wirelessly connected but in separate locations. If both sensors are triggered simultaneously, the hand sensors immediately begin to vibrate and heat up to body temperature causing the feeling of a real physical touch through wires and radio signals.
What is the intrinsic quality of this (digital) touch?
